5/9/2008 - 7-year-old Boy Shot by Stray Carjacking Bullet

Neighbors told police they looked outside and saw three men in white shirts and black ski masks speed away in a white SUV and a white Buick.
As people on West 23rd Street called police, a 911 call came in from a home on West 22nd Street. The grandfather inside said he was in the living room when his 7-year-old grandson, Deangelo Jones, came out of his bedroom crying, and bleeding from his right leg. He`d been shot in the thigh, and the bullet exited near his kneecap. The woman said her white Buick was stolen nearby, and the men said they were carjacked in the SUV, a white Jeep Cherokee.
Police believe the white Jeep Cherokee has a Florida tag number of either X69DNR OR X695DR.The suspects could also be in a white Buick LeSabre.
Jones` family says he is still in the hospital and is expected to recover.

5/8/2008 - Thieves Run Up $2,000 On Stolen Gas Card

Police are searching for someone who stole a company gas card and some accomplices who used it to charge nearly $2,000 in gasoline -- more than 500 gallons over a five-day period. Surveillance video caught one of the thefts in progress, with a group of men all apparently involved as the gas is pumped into an SUV. At one point, a one man can be seen picking up an unrestrained baby from the front seat of the vehicle. Outside the SUV, another man repeatedly swipes the stolen gas card and letting others fill up for free. Future Computer Systems is offering a cash reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in the case. 5/8/2008 - Police Search For Suspect In Wal-Mart Fraud Case

Police are looking for Dustin Wayne Johnson,White male, 06/22/1982, 6’3”, 165 pounds.

The suspect has opened several fraudulent credit card accounts using different victims names. He purchased a  large television at Wal-Mart on San Jose Blvd. Detectives received information that this suspect was a possible suspect in another case, (Wal-Mart at 6767 103rd St). The suspect is on video walking out of the store with a large television in a shopping cart with the receipt in hand.  This suspect is a suspect in several other Wal-Mart cases.

5/7/2008 - Kid Finds Dead Man In Home

A juvenile returning home from school Wednesday afternoon discovered a man dead in a Westside home, Jacksonville police said. Homicide detectives were called to the 2100 block of Prospect Street at about 3 p.m. The victim`s name was not immediately released, but authorities said the victim was a black man. According to police, the kid who found the body is related to the victim.  Detectives said they believed victim was inside of his home when he was killed.  Anyone with information that could help police solve this crime is asked to call First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.


5/6/2008 - One Man Fighting for His Life after Shooting at an Apartment Complex

Homicide Detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff`s Office are back on the scene this morning of a shooting at an apartment complex on the Northside. One man is in critical condition.
Police say someone shot him last night at an apartment complex on Notter Avenue, that`s not far from Golfair Boulevard. They believe he was shot twice. They don`t think the victim lives in the complex.
Investigators still have many questions about the shooting. They have talked with possible witnesses. They do not have a suspect in custody. They have not released the victim`s name, but authorities say he is in his early 20`s. If you have any information that can help, police want to hear from you.
